My peers focused on how the topics I discussed in my script were relatable. Not only were they able to relate because of their own experiences, but some of what I discussed is seen everywhere in the media. Comments were also about how I included boys since the topic of beauty standards usually only pertains to women, but some mentioned that they appreciated that I did not exclude boys from this. Something that also stands out to them is the idea of how we grow up with social media and these beauty standards we see, as well as the effect it has on our mental and physical health growing up. I used the comments to expand on some of the topics they mentioned, specifically about how Kylie Jenner is an example of how beauty standards not only impacts us, it impacts celebrities, too; the beauty standards that boys have to live up to; how to teach others to not live through social media. The comments made it clear that everybody was able to relate to the topic, coming from an audience that is both male and female.
